Maximize MMA Training with Xplosion

I read an article by a well thought of MMA coach (Rooney)in the article he details what is the best form of training. Guess what? Well, he validates exactly what I was doing back in 1996 and put on film in 1997 (when I was to fight in the UFC).

Here's a little more

The Battle that left Blood and Death Everywhere while it changed a Country by Christophe Clugston

As you should know I research Occidental battles, warfare, dueling and fighting methods. Too many people have given in to the propaganda machine from the Orient. Sorry, but the history of Empires and language spread is directly tied to warfare and the Occidental World did this better than anyone else.

Speaking of languages and warfate--here is something that is in Anglo-Saxon (Old English) about a battle that turned the history for what is modern day England.

The mere rendering of the words connects to me in some sort of Jungian Archetype.

Does this connect to you? Or were you even aware of this?

Some Hard Polyglot Training by Christophe Clugston

Well, keeping in the vein of languages and training hard I present a little hard core reality. This is one man's mental workout. If you ever asked me what it takes to know several languages and keep them going--well here's your answer.

I will talk mroe about this topic in the future--but that will first go to the Inner Core. So join the Inner Core to get the best information.

Christophe Clugston in Martial Arts Odyssey: Boxing Linguist with Antonio Graceffo

Well, it sure took a long time for Antonio and I to have a camera moment. We had planned to shoot in Cmaobida and then in Thailand--well, it just didn't happen like that. We did get a fast moment in Bnagkok (yeah this was the third time we tried to film in Thailand together) and just started the camera rolling. We had a lot to say. Even bits about our mutual friend, the elusive and somewhat perverse Robert Clyne (noted host of Fight Japan and Fight Asia).

Here then is the video. Click through and leave a comment if you want.

Sometimes We're gone and Death Enters by Christophe Clugston

I want to post some thoughts about something that has happened that should give everyone a chance to reflect on his or her own motives, directions, ideas and decisions. Often people say I will do it in the future. I will travel to this place or take that vacation cruise some time in the future. Or I often hear also that someone will learn how to sail a boat, fly a plane or how to speak fluently in another language.

Let's face facts--over 90% of the time these are just lies. Yeah, I'm not here to make it palatable for you to lie to yourself or others. It's this very acceptance of the lie that leads you thinking that you do have time. Let me tell you something: those that actually learn how to fly, speak another language fluently (not a short term goal) or travel to K 2 are actually busy doing it. They don't sit around and use it as excuse to NOT do it. It here refers to the Future that never comes. You know as professional fighter the whole life is about a future date and what must be done to be something different on that future date. Most people just go through life trying to make it from one day to the other or think in very hazy terms of getting a job that has retirement, medical (that would be the USA you'd have to worry about), and has vacation time.

The reality here is also that outside of bgeing forced by others to make deadlines or goals with work, the person does not have the self directed force to achieve something by personal force. It was said on this path of fighting/learning about yourself that you must FORGE yoruself form your own will. This Personal Power is what makes you separate from others.

So why do I bring all of this up now?

Well, one of the Group has died. Arthur Gallant, who was part of the infamous French Canadian segment of Comhrac Bas recently died from cancer. He was a mere 50 years old. Fifty years of living, experiencing, adventures and accomplishments. I know that many of the things that he used to talk to me about still had not happened: finding a woman that was exactly what he wanted and would accept him for who he was, is a prime example that comes to mind. However, Arthur had traveled across Canada several times, been part of my assitants for the Street Savage Tapes filmed in 2000 in California. He had also been instrumental in helping with many seminars in Moncton, New Brunswick. He was captured on film and on audio--and now, by friends, that is all we have of him. For all of his songs have been sung and all of his stories have been told. He Still had much left and there were more people left that he hadn't met, yet. But that has all ended.

Arthru was a gifted Chiac Musician (Acadian style music) and was always a hit when he would play at our famous EVENTS. He also was a great person to have at any party, meeting, or seance. He pulled Matt out of some strange bad times: the Natives, the Falling on the Girl Friend thing, etc.

He also was a great person to establish contact. It was his unassuming ways and ability to make others laugh that quickly had others engaged in conversation that they normaly would not do.He had this gift from his bacground: He had done a variety of jobs and there was always something about his Chimney Sweeping episodes or his Truck Driving exploits that could enthrall others. He had a wry way about him and he had a Zest for life.

He also set about Comhrac Bas learning in a head under the water approach to swimming, as it were. The times that Matt, Arthur and others would go at it in the Combat Room was, to say the least, committment.

I can remember many a time from the "Positive, positive, la" and the "skell a dit?" that stlil makes me laugh. It wasn't just the phrase it was the way he said it. And his story of the Dinosaur vs the Bear Anaology for Comhrac Bas has to reign as the greatest story ever told. This was said at one of Rene's after event bashes. Those were times to be cherished now. We will not pass through those times ever again. The gang and the boats that brought them have gone to other places on the Immense Globe.

I have known many peoplewho have died: Died from motorcycle crashes, auto accidents, falls, fires, war, fighting, etc. I know the finality the actual STOP of the forward moving time line and that's why I talk about it so much. If you don't think of the end, you will never do anything on the way to the End. The Future will come, but will you mark it in a way that allows you to have done something that you said you truly wanted to do?

Arthur can no longer be part of the CXS evolution that has launched it far beyond Comhrac Bas. He can never sing us another song of his strange times selling dolls. He can never come to Thailand. He will never learn Spanish. It's over. And those of us who knew him should be feeling the gap that is there without him to fill it. There is a unique vibe gone. The mortal coil has changed its position.

So, what will you do before someone is writing this sort of article about you?

ENglish Stick Fighting by Christophe Clugston

Man people are unaware of the long history of fighting and the war arts in the Occidental World. There is simply too much propaganda about the Oriental schools and their methods. The reality is that European soil saw more duels than Musashi ever dreamed of and there were many people with far more duels than Musashi.

Occidental Arts are based on performance/outcome--this equates to no time for tradition bound up slow to evolve arts and the mind sets behind those arts. There is a reason that the Western World went on to conquer the Modern World and this mind set is prevalent in the fighting arts, too.

One of the weapons that was considered to be very dangerous (and capable of being a swordsman if adroitly handled) was the Quarter staff (well this is the name in English so I will use it right now since I am not writing in German, Spanish or French for the bulk of this Blog).

Here is a video about basic use of the English Stick.

Secret of Spainish Blades, Swords by Christophe Clugston

Wow, it's been one hot topic over the past few years. In fact, I first thought that the interest in this topic would be huge.

Then after starting to explain the topic to some poeple I got the feeling that it was far too arcane. At the time, Alex was very certain that the information was beyond the interest of the majorityh of people.

I had done a few semianrs about the Spanish Circle School. I had also done personal training covering the blade work. It was impressive with everyone and it really had an impact. But, I felt that it was the type of person that was doing it. It was certainly a very specific niche of fighting.

Man, was I wrong. The general interest in the Spanish Blade Work is overwhelming. It's been hidden for so long--that poeple are ready to be exposed to the best swordsmen in history.

I will be putting out more on this topic.

Here's a group in Spain that are bringing back part of the Blades.

The Next Big Thing in Fighting by Christophe Clugston

Ohh, I've been working on this for some time. I've been extremelyu busy with some adventures and personal research. But, as they say in the world of research, it's time to tlak a little about what is going to be available.

I've taken the next swtep to the most advanced fighting and self defense technology on the planet. Yeah, that's right---CXS has a new dimensional level to its overall design.

Now, those of you who only read about CXS have to keep in mind that there is no film of it, there are no DVs about it---it is very limited to a small group of people that I know personally.

I will not let this get out of the immeadaite control that I have over such personal contact.

YOu must understand VDA to attempt CXS---the reasons are apparewnt to those that are in CXS Bewta. (This is my personal group of guys who have been handed the keys to the jet power of the Raptor--to use a strange anaology).

Well, the new level is CXS-M. This is a fine tuned delivery of what works. It is also taking the skills that you have in CXS and putting them into a newer and higher level of performance. This is about being able to really clear the area.

This i no HYPE.

I want to let out to those that have the interest and who are READY for this level of skill and power that this will be available to those who are qualified.

I am about to make it possible for privatge training to gain this.

I will also be considering Semianrs to the already CXS trained.

Sorry, qualification is necessary.

Believe me, I will shock and amaze you , yet again.

THere's a reason why people consider me the Mozxart of Self Defense and street fighting technologies.

And this is a fine example.

The Birth of Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a really recognized name and art at this point in time. The branding of the name has been going on for the last 20 something years in the West.

And it is known.

What is not known is that Muay Thai is dervied from the more ancient Khmer Empire. This whole region has fighting arts--in fact, the Burmese kicked the hell out of the Thais in several wars back in the day (as they say).

Anyway, the state of Pradal Serey (also known as Kun Khmer) is in a building state. The Pol Pot regime kiloeled all fighters and trainers. The art was pretty much decimaed during the 30 years of war in Casmbodia.

Now, there is a re-birth of the art. The style and rules are almost the exact same as Muay Thai. One thing is for certain, however, that at the highest level there are no Khmers now that can fight with the best of the best Thais. There is a lot of discrimination and racism in the Orient (more than anywhere I have been) and the fights just don't happen.

Anyway, here is a little promo of fights that will be going on between Westerners and the best Khmers (these are not the best foreigners--see how that works?)

Ring or Cage Muay Thai for MMA

Mixed Martial Arts requires the blending of several important factors. These factors can be thought of in two large categories:
1) Striking and 2) Grappling.

Within these two large categories there are several other sub categories; however, the larger and more global aspects must be considered first and last.

That is to say that at the end of the day your striking is going to be more effective if it is a global style rather than some small part of striking (e.g., small crane beak technique is not going to work well for you in comparison to Muay Thai).

Now, how to fight effectively and increase your fighting skills requires using the most global striking art. This happens to be (in the Sport sense) Muay Thai.

Yes, Burmese Boxing also uses the head butt, but, that is now illegal in MMA and is not of consequence in the sport striking. That leaves us looking at using the striking style of Muay Thai as it is the most complete art that translates to the cage or the ring of the MMA world.

The important fact
is to use Muay Thai and not kick boxing. The differences are great and very significant. Muay Thai fighters are quite adept at standing (greco) grappling and are actually better than pure greco wrestlers because they also throw strikes while upper body grappling (this is legal in MMA so this means it should be part of the striking training).

A lot of people like to claim that they are Muay Thai fighters or train Muay Thai; however, this is patently not true. There are few real Muay Thai training camps in the World (most are in Thailand) and I can say that the percentage of those gyms around the world that say they train Muay Thai are in fact not training Muay Thai.

It takes a true professional with real world and real ring experience to teach you Muay Thai. What most people try to pass off as Muay Thai is a derived kick boxing style. And kick boxing is not as complete as Muay Thai for MMA.

In Muay Thai you most worry about kicks, punches, knees and elbows, clinch throws, and clinch striking. These are all aspects that are part of MMA.

Kick boxing and boxing are lacking too many aspects to give you a global striking domination in MMA. Here's just one great example from boxing: While you might be great at bobbing and weaving this can easily be defeated with clinch fighting using elbows and knees. Unless you want to be a victim of a brutal knee or elbow knock out you have to get real Muay Thai training incorporated into your MMA training.

Believe me that many are lacking in MMA striking training abilities, and you can exploit this if you do one thing: find your way to getting some real Muay Thai training.

You must find a professional who has "said and done it before". Ths is the only way he is going to be qualified to guide you to new heights in your MMA fighting skills. I wish you luck in getting Muay Thai skills for MMA and injecting a new level to your game.
